Pediatrics Residency Training Program is a special program for medical students who have just graduated and who are eligible to take part in the residency doctor exam. This program aims to train highly qualified pediatricians. The annual enrolled students are admitted from 10 to 15 doctors who meet the selection process of the university and Thai Nguyen University.

The Pediatrics Residency is a typical postgraduate training program that aims to train doctors in solid basic scientific knowledge, specialized knowledge of pediatrics, good practical skills, professional problem-solving skill, scientific research ability and adaptivity to increasing development of science and medicine, and early identification of diseases and health problem, especially among children in northern mountainous provinces. They are also the doctors of medical ethics who can study on their own to become experts in pediatrics. After completing the 3-year training program, residents will be awarded three degrees: Resident Doctor Degree of Pediatrics, Master Degree of Medicine, Specialist Doctor level I in Pediatrics.

Graduates from Pediatrics Residency Program have a range of job opportunities.

They can work in health state management agencies, in research institutes, in medical universities, colleges and secondary schools. They also may work for Pediatrics Department of public and private health facilities.

For those who would like to study higher education, they can continue the next levels of study: Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine and Specialist Doctor level II.
