Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy and its training programs were accredited and recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training
Quality accreditation is an activity ensuring the external quality assurance which aims at making decisions to recognize the quality of an educational institution and a training program. The University has been accredited and recognized to be a qualified educational institution since 2017. In 2019, three training programs were accredited and accepted by the Ministry of Education and Training, in which two programs were granted Certificate of Programme Accreditation. In 2020, TUMP applied for the quality accreditation of two training programs (Medical Doctor and Bachelor of Nursing) according to the AUN-QA assessment. In order to improve the quality of training, TUMP plans to continue the application of quality accreditation for other training programs in 2021.

On November 14 – 15, 2020, Vietnam’s Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) project, Improving Access, Curriculum and Teaching in Medical Education and Emerging Diseases (IMPACT-MED), the World Health Organization, and Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy successfully organized the 4th Annual Medical Education Conference – "Partnerships in Medical Education" in Thai Nguyen city. The Conference attracted more than 400 participants on site and 100 virtual participants, including leaders, faculties in medical education, and students in Vietnam and around the world.
