Quality accreditation is an activity ensuring the external quality assurance which aims at making decisions to recognize the quality of an educational institution and a training program. The University has been accredited and recognized to be a qualified educational institution since 2017. In 2019, three training programs were accredited and accepted by the Ministry of Education and Training, in which two programs were granted Certificate of Programme Accreditation. In 2020, TUMP applied for the quality accreditation of two training programs (Medical Doctor and Bachelor of Nursing) according to the AUN-QA assessment. In order to improve the quality of training, TUMP plans to continue the application of quality accreditation for other training programs in 2021.

In the year 2021, Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy are implemented an external assessment by AUN-QA. This is a crucial event for the University to affirm its brand name in Thai Nguyen University and in the whole country as well.

On November 14 – 15, 2020, Vietnam’s Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) project, Improving Access, Curriculum and Teaching in Medical Education and Emerging Diseases (IMPACT-MED), the World Health Organization, and Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy successfully organized the 4th Annual Medical Education Conference – "Partnerships in Medical Education" in Thai Nguyen city. The Conference attracted more than 400 participants on site and 100 virtual participants, including leaders, faculties in medical education, and students in Vietnam and around the world.

Accepting the request by School of Nursing ZOWE (Bruges), Belgium, Thai Nguyen University of Medicine admitted two nursing students from School of Nursing ZOWE for undertaking the clinical internship. The internship took place from September 9 2019 to October 31 2019.

Undertaking the cooperation agreement between Thomas More University of Applied Sciences and Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmamcy (TUMP), TUMP agreed to admit three nursing students from Thomas More University of Applied Sciences to do the clinical internship from April 8th 2019 to June 16th 2019.

As one of the activities under the cooperation agreement between Thai Nguyen University of Medicine (TUMP) and Pharmacy and Thomas More University of Applied Sciences in Belgium, TUMP was pleased to have two nursing students from Thomas More University of Applied Sciences undertake a clinical placement at practice hospital of Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy from March 23rd 2018 to May 18th 2018.

In all societies, apart from modern medicine that is derived from scientific knowledge, there are numerous medical traditions which are grouped as alternative and complementary medicine. Naturopathic Medicine, a form of alternative medicine is a distinct primary health care profession, emphasizing prevention, treatment, and optimal health through the use of therapeutic methods and substances that encourage individuals’ inherent self-healing process. The practice of naturopathic medicine includes modern and traditional, scientific, and empirical methods and it is currently practiced not only in a specific country but in different countries from different parts of the world.

On October 27th 2017, Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy successfully organized the Workshop on the topic "Curriculum Development in Nursing and Midwifery Education" in coordination with Artevelde University, Belgium.

Southeast Asia is a region with cultural diversity among and between nations and comes along with an enormous plurality of healing system. The existence of different therapies in medicine has brought many advantages in health care for the people and is considered an important resource for the socio-economic development of each country.
