Overview

Abstract:

Pre-eclampsia is a condition caused by pregnancy with the presence of high blood pressure with proteinuria. Without early diagnosis and early management, it can be life-threatening for both mother and baby. Objectives: To describe clinical and subclinical characteristics of patients diagnosed and treated for pre-eclampsia at the Obstetrics Department of Thai Nguyen Central Hospital. Subject: From June 2017 to June 2019, there are 215 eligible cases. Methods: Describe retrospective. Results: The most common disease is between the ages of 21 and 35 years (68%) and living in rural areas (63.2%), being a comparison (56.8%). The disease is detected late, 38- 39 weeks (51.2%). Hypertension and edema (89.6%) met most patients. There are almost no other associated symptoms. Proteinuria is mostly low (88%). The biochemical blood tests change little from normal. Fibrinogen is mostly changed (79.2%). According to the results of less than normal ultrasound of amniotic fluid, a small proportion (17.6%), weight was still mainly within the normal range (58.4%). Conclusion: Pre-eclampsia is most common in reproductive age (68%) and in comparison (56.8%), the disease is detected late. Most have symptoms: increased blood pressure and edema. Proteinuria is mostly low.
