CHARACTERISTICS OF MAINTENANCE-PHASE TACROLIMUS TROUGH CONCENTRATIONS AND ASSOCIATED FACTORS IN KIDNEY TRANSPLANT RECIPIENTS AT THAI NGUYEN NATIONAL HOSPITAL
Overview
Abstract:
The objective of this study is to describe the clinical characteristics, treatment regimens and maintenance-phase tacrolimus trough concentrations, and to identify factors associated with achieving the target tacrolimus range in kidney transplant recipients. A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted in 42 outpatient kidney transplant recipients at Thai Nguyen National Hospital in December 2025. Factors associated with achieving the target tacrolimus range (4–7 ng/mL) were analyzed using the Chi-square test and Student’s t-test, with statistical significance set at p<0.05. The mean age was 40.21 ± 8.02 years, and 80.95% of patients were male. The most common immunosuppressive regimen was tacrolimus + mycophenolate mofetil + corticosteroid (92.86%). The median weight-based tacrolimus dose was 0.071 mg/kg/24 h, and the median tacrolimus trough concentration was 5.3 ng/mL (IQR: 4.2–6.1). Overall, 64.29% of patients were within the target range of 4–7 ng/mL. Post-transplant duration (p = 0.028) and donor source (p = 0.026) were the two factors significantly associated with achieving the target tacrolimus range
