				Overview
Abstract:
Objective:
Describe clinical and paraclinical
characteristics and some factors related to lymph node
metastasis in patients with thyroid cancer who came
for examination and treatment at Thai Nguyen
National Hospital.
Subjects and methods:
A
retrospective study on 107 patients diagnosed with
thyroid cancer at Thainguyen National Hospital from
January 2024 to December 2024.
Results:
Thyroid
cancer occurs in all ages, with an average age of 46.8
± 11.5 years old, primarily in women with 94.4%. The
main reason for admission to the hospital was by
accident detection (40.19%), and tumour locations
were mainly in the right lobe (37.4%). On thyroid
ultrasound, 75.7% of patients' tumours were
evaluated by TIRADS 5. Of 107 patients, lymph node
metastasis was found in 34 patients, of which
metastasis to the central cervical lymph nodes alone
accounted for 41.2%. The cervical lymph node
metastasis rate was higher in patients with a tumour
size greater than 0.5 cm, and the tumour had invaded
outside the thyroid gland, which increased the risk of
lymph node metastasis with statistical significance
