Current state of students understanding of regulations at Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy

Abstract:
Describe the current state of students' understanding of regulations related to learners at the school; identify some related factors and synthesize some suggestions from students to improve the quality of dissemination of the school's regulations to students. Students participated in an online survey using a questionnaire consisting of quantitative and qualitative questions. The sample consisted of 1,076 students. The average knowledge score was 5.81 ± 2.42, the percentage of correct answers to knowledge questions ranged from 14.1% to 85.5%. The percentage of students who had been punished was 5.0%; In this group, 46.3% had been warned and 51.9% believed that the main reason for punishment was lack of understanding about school’s regulations. There was a statistically significant difference among majors and years of study (p <0.001). The qualitative analysis synthesized seven groups of suggestions from students on how to disseminate regulations, emphasizing direct dissemination, the role of academic advisors, multi-channel communication, assessment of understanding, concise content, publicizing violations of regulations and creative forms of communication.
