Overview

Abstract:

Objectives: To describe knowledge, attitudes and practices for cervical cancer prevention of 15-49 years old women in Tan Khanh commune, Phu Binh district, Thai Nguyen province in 2021 and to identify some related factors to practicing screening for cervical cancer prevention. Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 370 15-49 years old women in Tan Khanh commune, Phu Binh district, Thai Nguyen province.
Results: The rate of women with general knowledge about cervical cancer prevention at satisfied level was 9.7%; unsatisfactory was
90.3%; overall attitude on cervical cancer prevention at satisfied level was 91.4%; unsatisfactory is 8.6%. The rate of women who had a gynecological examination, cervical cancer screening was 20.5%. The rate of women do cervical cancer prevention such as: increasing physical activity 56.5%; avoid exposure to tobacco smoke 25.4%; get HPV vaccine 10.8%. There were correlation between ethnic minorities, single marital status, low education level, occupation, low household economy, menstrual irregularity, having many children, inadequate knowledge, unsatisfactory attitude with practicing screening for cervical cancer prevention (p < 0.05).
Conclusion: Knowledge, attitude and practice for cervical cancer prevention of 15-49 years old women in Tan Khanh commune, Phu Binh district is low.
