Overview

Abstract:

Objective: To assess healthcare workers’ knowledge and attitudes toward adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting and to identify factors associated with having both adequate knowledge and positive attitudes at Pham Ngoc Thach Thai Nguyen Hospital in 2026.

Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted among 165 healthcare workers currently employed at the hospital. Data were collected using an online questionnaire and analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2016 and SPSS version 26.0.

Results: The proportion of healthcare workers with adequate knowledge of ADR reporting was 38.8%, while 80.6% had positive attitudes; 34.5% had both adequate knowledge and positive attitudes. Some practice-related knowledge areas remained limited, particularly knowledge of ADR report receiving agencies and reporting submission methods. Professional qualification and participation in ADR training were significantly associated with having both adequate knowledge and positive attitudes.

Conclusion: Regular training, standardized reporting procedures, and strengthening the role of clinical pharmacists are needed to improve pharmacovigilance activities at the hospital.
