Overview

Abstract:

SUMARY

SERUM CYSTATIN C LEVELS IN TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS IN THAINGUYEN NATIONAL HOSPITAL

Serum cystatin C levels may allow the prediction of the risk of developing chronic kidney disease, thus signaling a preclinical renal dysfunction.

Object: Surveying serum Cystatin C concentration and the relationship with some other biochemical indices in patients with type 2 diabetes at ThaiNguyen General Hospital.

Subjects: 89 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus outpatient treatment at the Department of Examination of ThaiNguyen General Hospital.

Method: Cross-sectional description

Results and conclusions:

+ The average value of serum cystatin C is 1.8 ± 1.75 (mg / l), the median value is 1.5 (mg / l), the minimum value is 0.2 (mg / l) , the maximum is 12 (mg / l) and does not follow the standard distribution law.

+ The rate of increase of cystatin C is 67.4%.

+ There is a relationship between creatin, urea, uric acid, MAU and serum cystatin C (p <0.05). There was no association between fasting blood glucose and serum creatinuria with serum cystatin C (p> 0.05).

+ There is a positive positive correlation between cystatin C concentration and serum creatinine concentration (r = 0.88, p <0.05) according to the equation y = 0.012x + 0.286.

Key words: renal failure, type 2 diabetes, cystatin C
