Abstract

Today, with the explosion of information, exploiting and searching for the reliable sources of academic information is not accessible, especially in medical field. The objective: examining the students’ satisfaction and demands for the library’s operation. Ascertaining the proportion and the degree in utilizing the library’s documents and services. The method: investigating the opinions of 400 students in school year 2019-2020. The consequence: the students’ purposes when they come to use the library with the proportion of the aim for study being 68%. The weekly frequency of utilization makes up 41,5%. The sources of the printed materials which are widely used like textbook forming a course make up 54%; The percentage of reference materials like magazines, newspapers are 25%. The documents having the high rate of meeting students’ demands like textbooks make up 95,5%; Newspapers and magazines make up 88,5%. However, that the area of the library is narrow with small reading room and very few desks and chairs cannot satisfy students (80,5%). Conclusion: the weekly frequency of utilization of students is not high (41,5%), which shows that the self-study situation in students has yet to be effective. To enhance the effect of using the library, the library should be improved the services and developed the infrastructure: broadening the space, the area of the library and supplementing the seats for students.
