Description of the program

The training program for Specialist Doctor level I in Public health will help learners to gain knowledge and skills of public health to take part in solving community health problems, and providing healthcare services. Each year, Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy enrolls 9 to 20 students for this major.

This program lasts about 2 years with appropriate teaching methods. Students will be prepared with basic science, fundamental knowledge and professional knowledge, and give learners chances to practice skills related to required competencies at health facilities. Besides, learners are also assigned with exercises, and assignments to self-study or study in groups.

Employment after completing the program

Graduates from the program can work for state health management agencies, medical universities or colleges, medical secondary school, research institutes as well as non-governmental organizations.  

Next levels of study

After completing the program, learners may continue to study higher training programs such as Specialist doctor level II in Public health, Master of Preventive Medicine, Master of Public health, and Doctor of Philosophy in Public health
