Objectives

Knowledge:

• Present physiological changes, catastrophes, complications, and ways to manage catastrophes and complications of pumping carbon dioxide into the abdomen.

• Present indications, contraindications, and surgical techniques for some common laparoscopic surgeries.

• Present catastrophe, complications and some ways to manage catastrophe and complications of some laparoscopic surgeries.

Skills:

• Inspect and prepare a full range of equipment for the basic laparoscopic surgery.

• Be skilled in disassembling, assembling and using basic tools in laparoscopic surgery.

• Perform basic techniques in laparoscopic surgery.

• Perform some common endoscopic surgeries.

• Find out and manage complications and common complications of laparoscopic surgery.

The level of autonomy and responsibility

• Collaborate in teamwork effectively to have safe laparoscopic surgery

• Comply with the principles of patient safety.
